New Equinox Design Features Refreshed Body Style, Interior for 2016 Year-Model
It’s been a few years since the Chevy Equinox has gotten an updated look – And although we we didn’t think anything was wrong with the last design, we definitely think that this new Equinox is looking pretty good! Keep reading to see what changes they’ve made, technology, safety, and more!
What’s Different on the 2016 Equinox
The greatest differences are on the front and the rear exterior. The front end presents a more refined look with a chrome-accented dual-port grille (very similar to the new 2015 Cruze) and restyled headlamps and LED fog lamps. New 17″ and 18″ wheels are available to make it pop!
On the back side, the dual-element tail lamps are more sculpted, and boxier, if you will. So they made the tailpipes rectangular to go with that updated, modern flow. And of course, they added chrome accents on the back side too.
The interior, for the most part, is very similar. Trim levels offering cloth seating will now be dressed with premium cloth, which sounds fancy. They also added a “Saddle Up” interior color for some nice, luxurious contrast. The gear shifter has chrome on accents on it as well, with the gear selector button now on top of the shifter for easier operation.
As every new Chevrolet model, the 2016 Equinox will come standard with Onstar’s awesome 4G LTE WiFi capabilities.

The 2016 Equinox will also feature Siri® Eyes Free – allowing you to keep your eyes on the road and use steering wheel controls and voice command to use your iPhone safely while you drive!
The Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system will also come with the available Onstar Turn-by-Turn Navigation so you can get to your destination effortlessly with the most up-to-date routes.
The 2016 Equinox will also offer available safety features to keep you and your family safe on the road. The 2016 Equinox surrounds you with a variety of advanced safety features including six air bags, a steel safety cage and the LATCH (Lower Anchors and Top Tethers for Children) system.
And of course, Onstar has your back! Automatic Crash Response with Onstar uses built-in sensors to automatically alert an OnStar Advisor, who is immediately connected into your Equinox to see if you need help. Even if you don’t respond, an OnStar Advisor can use GPS technology to pinpoint your exact location and request that emergency help be sent immediately.
The 2016 Chevrolet Equinox is expected to arrive at Jeff Gordon’s dealership in Wilmington, North Carolina in late fall. For more updates on the refreshed Equinox and it’s arrival to Jeff Gordon Chevy, fill out the contact form below! For now, feel free to check out our 2015 Equinox inventory!
