Wilmington NC Dealership to Donate $25 for Every Sale, School for Children with Autism Hold Art Auction
In honor of Autism Awareness Month, the team at Jeff Gordon Chevrolet is working hard to help our local non-profit day school for children with autism, Oasis NC. Our General Manager has made a promise to donate $25 for every new and pre-owned vehicle we sell throughout the month of April to contribute to the school’s scholarship fund.
To help spread the word, the amazing kids of Oasis NC took time out of their very busy schedules last week, before they went on Spring Break, to stop by the dealership to check out some new Chevrolets, meet some of the dealership staff, and tell us a little more about their school. Check it out here:
Starting on April 20th, 2017, Oasis NC will also be hosting their art auction through eBay featuring the students’ original masterpieces that they created on a field trip to Painting with a Twist. Throughout the month, the pieces are on display at Pinpoint Restaurant in downtown Wilmington but you can also check them out here:
100% of the funds raised during “Painting Outside the Lines” will go towards scholarships with students with ASD to attend a 4-week summer program at Oasis NC.
To join the auction, you can visit OasisNCPaints.comdirectly or search for seller: OasisDaySchool on eBay. The auction will be open from April 20th-30th 2017.
OASIS NC is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization in New Hanover County created by two special education teachers that provides services and support for children with autism and their families. Jeff Gordon Chevrolet Donates a Portion of Vehicle Sales for Autism Awareness
April was Autism Awareness Month, and throughout the entire month of April, Jeff Gordon Chevrolet created an on-site program to assist Oasis NC in their 2016 “Buy the Bus” Campaign! For every new and pre-owned vehicle sold in April, Jeff Gordon Chevrolet donated a portion of vehicle sales to the bus campaign for a total of $7,025!
Jeff Gordon Chevrolet also ran a Malibu Giveaway for all donors to Oasis’ campaign. For every $50 an individual donated, they would get a chance to win a 2016 Chevy Malibu. Unfortunately, our winning donor didn’t win the Malibu in the final game, but she did get two tickets to this year’s Coca Cola 600! And, we got some great photos!
Our #DayItForward efforts were part of Oasis NC‘s “Buy the Bus” Campaign – A fundraiser to help the school get a bus or van to allow them to transport the students to and from activities around Wilmington without having to take multiple trips by having to use their personal vehicles. We look forward to seeing what they pick out and watch them grow in the near future! Visit their website or Facebook Page for additional details on how you can get involved.

Help Us BUY THE BUS! For Local Non-Profit Center for Autistic Children
A Leap Year gives us a whole extra day just once every four years. This Leap Day (February 29th, 2016), Chevrolet launched a campaign asking: “What would you do to #DayItForward?”
“Time is such a precious commodity and having an extra day this year presents an amazing opportunity for all of us to do something impactful,” said Paul Edwards, Chevrolet vice president of Marketing. “The Chevy team is going to take those extra hours and put them towards doing unexpected acts of kindness for people – something that we hope others will embrace and repeat.”
Upon hearing about this campaign, Jeff Gordon Chevrolet came across this story through a local news outlet that inspired what we could do to #DayItForward. The Oasis NC Day School is a local non-profit center for children with autism that makes regular trips around the city of Wilmington to help the kids learn more and boost their social skills. Currently, their only method of transportation is the teachers’ personal vehicles, forcing them to take multiple cars with only 3-4 kids in each one. In order to expand the range of activities for the kids, Oasis set up a GoFundMe page to help raise funds to afford a school bus.
In an effort to make a memorable day for these kids, Jeff Gordon Chevrolet reached out to two existing partners, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Wilmington Hammerheads Youth Soccer for a day of fun (and pizza) at the Hammerheads’ indoor soccer facility. It turned out so much better than we could have asked and the kids just had a blast, as you can see from the photos below. The local news station also came out to do a follow-up story on the school’s fundraising efforts.
Of course, letting the kids play somewhere new for just one day won’t get them a bus. So Jeff Gordon Chevrolet set up a plan to help campaign for their cause and meet their goal a little quicker…
