National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day

Thursday, April 30th is National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day. There are so many pets that are looking for their forever loving home. Many pets end up in shelters not sure why they were left and just want to be loved again. Not only does adopting a shelter pet give the pet a new best friend but it also gives you a new best friend.  


If you are not ready to adopt a new friend there are other ways to help. Fostering is always a great option. By fostering a shelter pet that allows the pet to be in a loving home and their true personality can come out making it easier for people who are ready to adopt to see the true personality of the pet. Fostering is also a big help to the shelters. A Lot of shelters look for volunteers, people to help take care of the dogs. Donating is a great way to help so many shelters need as much funding help as they can get to keep the pets healthy. Following shelters on social media and sharing the pet stories are a huge help to the shelters and pets.

The package will be available on either the 2LT, 3LT, or SS trim levels. With the LT models the package includes the RS Package and Brembo four-piston performance brakes at the front.

We Are Open

Jeff Gordon Chevrolet Sales, Service, Parts and Body Shop are open and in compliance with the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners Executive Order 121.

Here at Jeff Gordon Chevrolet, we have put in place the following proactive measures:

  • All social distancing requirements apply.
  • Sales conducted by appointment only during the hours of 9am-6pm.
  • No more than 10 people, including customer and employees, in the showroom at anytime.
  • All our customer lounges are closed.
  • Tables are available outside the showroom for customers who wish to conduct their transaction outside of the showroom.
  • Six-foot distances have been designated with signage and/or tape for both employees and customers to maintain appropriate distance from other individuals.
  • Hand sanitizer and sanitizing products are readily available for employees and customers.
  • Home Delivery of vehicles is available as an option.
  • Test Drives are conducted by the following requirements: 


  1. Vehicles are completely sanitized with COVID-19 approved products after every test drive with a card stating time it was driven and when it was sanitized.
  2. No Sales Representatives riding in vehicle with a customer.
  3. Customer to wear dealership provided gloves while test driving the vehicle.
  4. Seat mats are to be used for the test drive.
  5. Vehicles test driven will not be driven by another potential customer for 72 hours.

Our mission at Jeff Gordon Chevrolet is to always be involved with our Wilmington community by team up as partners to raise awareness and support for those in need. As known all sales and service purchases made with Jeff Gordon go directly to help Wilmington area nonprofits and organizations. Now more than ever our these great organizations in the Wilmington community need our help.

WARM helps serve low-income homeowners in Brunswick, New Hanover, and Pender Counties by assisting in preventing home accidents and illnesses. 

During this time WARM is looking for donations.

What they can accept:

  1. Tools of any kind power or otherwise
  2. Yard work tools especially leaf rakes and flat shovels
  3. Tapes such as painters tape, electrical tape or duct tape
  4. Cleaning supplies
  5. Personal protective gear such as masks or safety glasses

 What they can’t accept:

  1. Nails or screws
  2. Roofing materials
  3. Light fixtures
  4. Used plumbing supplies

Family Promise of the Lower Cape Fear 

Family Promise also known as WIHN (Wilmington Interfaith Hospitality Network) has an emergency shelter program that unites the communities of partners in an effort to assist homeless families. In addition Family Promise also owns 12 units of transitional housings for families who are victims of domestic violence.

Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC

The Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC is asking for monetary donations rather then food at this time. The Food Bank maintains focus on acquiring shelf-stable food items at this time so that we can support families and seniors for the long haul during COVID-19.  With monetary resources, we can purchase the food items most-need and provide them to our community’s most vulnerable. “

NourishNC is a nonprofit that provides supplemental food assistance to hungry students in New Hanover County schools. NourishNC is looking for help getting snack packs together. Snack packs are a kid-friendly service project that helps give back to the children who are in need. If you do not have the needed ingredients for the snack packs everything can be ordered online and shipped straight to your door!

Animal Shelters 

This is the perfect time to foster a furry friend. Just to name a few places who might be looking for help with fostering animals, you could reach out to Columbus, Pender, Bladen and Duplin county shelters. You never know you could meet your best furry friend.
