Chevrolet’s best-selling global car is getting an update
Chevrolet just announced that its compact sedan will be getting a refresh for the 2016 model year. The Chevrolet Cruze has been a global success since its introduction to the market in 2010 (2011 model year), reaching 3.5 million sales around the world to date.
Although the Chevy Cruze just got a little bit of an update for the 2015 models, it looks like Chevrolet wasn’t quite finished. From what we can tell from the teaser photo, it looks like the new Chevy Cruze will be adapting similar design aspects of the Next-Gen 2016 Volt and 2016 Malibu, which were both introduced earlier this year as well.
According to the official press release:
It will be larger yet lighter than the current model, with new technologies, new power trains and additional available safety features that will bring a higher level of sophistication to the compact car segment.
The all-new Cruze will be one of the first of many Chevy models introduced with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto – Technologies that allow the built-in infotainment screen to take on the look of your iPhone or Android to allow for more user-friendly navigation and controls that you’re already used to, which also means you won’t have to pick up your phone while you’re driving either. Because safety is key. Pair that (pun intended) with OnStar’s 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot and you’re pretty much invincible!
The 2016 Cruze will be completely unveiled on June 24th, 2015 and Chevy has already told us that it will be arriving at Jeff Gordon’s award-winning dealership in early 2016. By that time, almost the entire Chevy lineup will be less than 3 years old. Pretty crazy!
We’ll be back with an update as more details are released! In the meantime, feel free to hop over to JeffGordonChevy.com to check out our current 2015 Chevy Cruze inventory.

New Equinox Design Features Refreshed Body Style, Interior for 2016 Year-Model
It’s been a few years since the Chevy Equinox has gotten an updated look – And although we we didn’t think anything was wrong with the last design, we definitely think that this new Equinox is looking pretty good! Keep reading to see what changes they’ve made, technology, safety, and more!
What’s Different on the 2016 Equinox
The greatest differences are on the front and the rear exterior. The front end presents a more refined look with a chrome-accented dual-port grille (very similar to the new 2015 Cruze) and restyled headlamps and LED fog lamps. New 17″ and 18″ wheels are available to make it pop!
On the back side, the dual-element tail lamps are more sculpted, and boxier, if you will. So they made the tailpipes rectangular to go with that updated, modern flow. And of course, they added chrome accents on the back side too.
The interior, for the most part, is very similar. Trim levels offering cloth seating will now be dressed with premium cloth, which sounds fancy. They also added a “Saddle Up” interior color for some nice, luxurious contrast. The gear shifter has chrome on accents on it as well, with the gear selector button now on top of the shifter for easier operation.
As every new Chevrolet model, the 2016 Equinox will come standard with Onstar’s awesome 4G LTE WiFi capabilities.

The 2016 Equinox will also feature Siri® Eyes Free – allowing you to keep your eyes on the road and use steering wheel controls and voice command to use your iPhone safely while you drive!
The Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system will also come with the available Onstar Turn-by-Turn Navigation so you can get to your destination effortlessly with the most up-to-date routes.
The 2016 Equinox will also offer available safety features to keep you and your family safe on the road. The 2016 Equinox surrounds you with a variety of advanced safety features including six air bags, a steel safety cage and the LATCH (Lower Anchors and Top Tethers for Children) system.
And of course, Onstar has your back! Automatic Crash Response with Onstar uses built-in sensors to automatically alert an OnStar Advisor, who is immediately connected into your Equinox to see if you need help. Even if you don’t respond, an OnStar Advisor can use GPS technology to pinpoint your exact location and request that emergency help be sent immediately.
The 2016 Chevrolet Equinox is expected to arrive at Jeff Gordon’s dealership in Wilmington, North Carolina in late fall. For more updates on the refreshed Equinox and it’s arrival to Jeff Gordon Chevy, fill out the contact form below! For now, feel free to check out our 2015 Equinox inventory!

The enhanced safety awareness package will include forward collision alert, lane keep assist/lane departure warning, low-speed collision imminent braking, and high beam assist.
The Next Gen Volt will still feature normal, sport, mountain, and hold drive modes – with the normal mode having broader capability. And if you have driven a Volt before, you probably noticed how quick and powerful it accelerates, which has also gone unchanged on the 2016 model. And the big new performance feature is called Regen on Demand™. This feature returns energy to the battery when the driver pulls the paddle on the steering wheel. The kinetic energy is captured and sent back to the battery, while slowing down the vehicle. Note: Drivers will still have to press the brake pedal to come to a complete stop.

Bonus: Chevrolet also revealed another concept at the Detroit Auto Show this morning – the 2017 Chevrolet BoltEV – an all-electric vehicle designed to compete against Tesla Motor Company’s upcoming more-affordable models. And it’s super futuristic. Read more about the Chevy Bolt Concept here.
Although they all went under some great make-overs, we’re undoubtedly most excited about the Tahoe and Suburban, not only because we’re a Chevy dealership, but the 2 bow tie-wearing full-size SUVs are the industry’s segment leaders, and their new-and-improved versions will only help that legacy continue just as strongly. The 2015 Suburban year model will also be representative of its 80th anniversary, and 12th generation of the original SUV.
Introduced in September of 2013, the 2015 Tahoe & Suburban went under a sharp and sophisticated redesign not only on the outside, but the inside too. The exterior’s new style isn’t just looks, but also helps contribute to an overall quieter ride. New inlaid doors fit into the body side openings instead of over the top of the body, significantly improving the quietness of the interior cabin and contributing to improved aerodynamics – an attribute that helps the vehicles slip through the air on the highway with less drag for greater efficiency. Lightweight aluminum hood and lift gate panels also enhance efficiency through reduced overall mass. A more-efficient, direct-injected EcoTec3 power train coupled with improved aerodynamics help offer greater estimated highway fuel economy. Other improvements provide drivers with a stronger, more planted stance, stronger braking, and new tires that are a 1/2-inch wider for better cornering.
Inside, premium materials and enhanced ergonomics demonstrate the Tahoe and Suburban’s blend of sophistication, craftsmanship and function. A new instrument panel houses an available eight-inch color touch screen radio with a secured storage bin behind the motorized screen. The compartmentalized center console is large enough to store a laptop or iPad (they thought of everything)!
The designs of the all-new Tahoe and Suburban reflect their greater functionality, technology and refinement, forging a new presence for Chevrolet SUVs that’s conveyed with unmistakable brand heritage. – Ken Parkinson, executive director of design

Other cool features include: Fold-flat second and third row seating (there will be a power option for this, too), two inches of more leg-room for your second row passengers, up to 6 USB ports and power outlets AND a 3-prong outlet to support all of your plug-in things, and available rear-seat entertainment and Blu-Ray player. But wait, there’s more! There will be a ‘conversation mirror’ in the overhead console that will give you a panoramic view of all the rear seats, which is great news for moms and dads whose vehicles often double as court rooms.
