Wilmington, NC-The first day of Spring was an overcast in Wilmington, but April showers brings May flowers! Even with the overcast we were able to get some great shots of the Chevrolet 2019 Northsky Blue Metallic Silverado 1500 RST! We went to Humble Roots Farm for some fresh vegetables and eggs, then took this beauty around town. Want this truck to be yours? Schedule an appointment to pick it up by clicking here!
You got 99 problems, and pollen is definitely one.
‘Tis the season for tons of pollen. And part of that means terrible allergies for a lot of people. The other part of that means that all of a sudden, everyone is riding around with a yellow-ish glow on their cars and for some reason, it’s extremely irritating. Unless your car is already yellow.
We can’t help with your allergy problems because we’re not doctors. But we do have some advice on how to deal with the pesky pollen problem that’s taking over your car.
For those who don’t know, pollen on a microscopic level looks like a little spiky ball and it uses prongs to hold on to whatever it feels like holding on to, like your car for example. The pollen sitting there won’t do anything to harm the paint on your car. It’s when you try to remove it that you can run into problems.
You Absolutely Should Not: Wipe the pollen off. Those little prongs clinging to your car will just be dragged along your beautiful paint and your car will end up looking a little less shiny as you leave little microscopic scratches.
You Can: Just hose your vehicle off at home or at the car wash. It won’t remove the pollen completely, although it may look like it, but it’s quick and easy and won’t damage the paint.
Best Solution: Give your car some TLC and give it a real car wash with soap, water and a little bit of a scrub. The soap and water will loosen the pollen so it’ll make the sponge or the car wash much safer on your car’s paint. But there’s a problem with this too.
Whether you wipe the pollen off, hose it off, or give it a good ol’ bath, there’s nothing preventing the pollen from showing up a few hours later (unless there’s some pollen repellent out there we don’t know about.) So even if you do go through the safe method of washing your car at home or bringing it through the car wash – to do it on a daily basis is going to drive up your water bill or you’re going to be spending a lot of money at the car wash. And this is where we come in.
